Welcome to MeshMap, a contributor-owned, community-managed mapping network whose mission is to build an open and decentralized 3D map of the world and a network of extended reality (XR) content for consumer use. We are excited for you to join us in this ambitious, collaborative endeavor. We also publish real-world augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) applications that you can play and experience using mixed reality devices.
While one of our goals is to create a crowd-sourced open 3D map as accurate as the real world, MeshMap cannot and does not proactively review all contributions. We depend on our community to focus on sharing reliable and accurate content.
MeshMap Labs, Inc., together with its affiliates and subsidiaries (“MeshMap”,“we”, “us”, and “our”), owns and operates Meshmap.com (the “Website”), and offers related Content (defined below), products and services including a software development kit (“SDK”), application program interface (“API” and together with the SDK, “MeshMap Software”), mixed reality games (“Games”) and live events (“Events”) (collectively, the Website, Content, MeshMap Software, Games, Events and other MeshMap products and services are referred to as the “Services”).

We will not collect additional categories of Personal Data or use the Personal Data we collected for materially different, unrelated or incompatible purposes without providing you notice. If you are a California resident, please note that we only use or disclose your sensitive personal information for the purposes set forth in section 7027(m) of the CCPA regulations and we do not collect or process sensitive personal information with the purpose of inferring any characteristics about California residents.
MeshMap uses the services of third-party vendors, contractors, consultants and service providers who need access to your Information (such as your name, address, email, or other identifiers) in order to enable them to perform services on our behalf, provide support services to us, or to provide us with additional information necessary to provide our Services to you (“Service Providers”). We use Service Providers for a variety of functions across our Services, such as data and website hosting, analytics, fraud monitoring, and other data and transaction processing.
These Service Providers have access to Information (including Personal Data) needed to perform their services or functions, but are not permitted to use it for other purposes except as permitted under our contract with them or by applicable law. In some cases, these Service Providers and their designees are permitted to use your information to develop, provide or improve their services, subject to their own terms and privacy policies. They are bound by contractual obligations to ensure the security, privacy, and confidentiality of your information. Please see our list of Subprocessors at the end of this Privacy Policy.
We engage other companies and individuals to perform functions on our behalf, some of which are described below. For example, when you use certain features of the Services that integrate with third-party platforms, such as social logins or cryptocurrency wallets, those third parties may collect information from you or your device. In some cases, these third parties may also use your information for their own purposes, subject to their own terms and privacy policies, and you should review their terms and policies carefully. Please read the terms of service and privacy policies of these third parties carefully. MeshMap is not responsible for data collected, received, or used by third parties as a result of these integrations.
When you use the Services (such as when you play our games in multiplayer mode, as available), use social features within those games (including cross-game features), depending on your settings, we will share certain Personal Data with other players or users. This Personal Data includes your profile (such as your username, your avatar, your online status, and your team), your in-game actions and achievements, real-world locations associated with your gameplay, or which gameplay resources you interacted with when playing the game, and your in-game messages and related content you share with other players or users. Additionally, certain games link to third-party sharing features on your device that you can use to disclose Personal Data to others outside the Services. MeshMap does not control and is not responsible for the data collected, received, or used by third parties as a result of these third-party sharing features.
All of your Personal Data that we collect may be disclosed or transferred to a third party in connection with a reorganization, merger, sale, transfer, assignment or other disposition of all or any portion of our business, assets or stock, including if we go out of business or enter into bankruptcy. Your Personal Data may be shared with our corporate parent or subsidiaries and affiliates, joint ventures, or for business transaction purposes consistent with this Privacy Policy.
We may share your Information with law enforcement, government authorities, or other parties: (a) where we believe in good faith that such disclosure is required by law or is otherwise is necessary to comply with legal obligations, protect your rights and safety or those of other individuals; (b) to protect, investigate, and deter fraudulent, harmful, unauthorized, unethical, or illegal activity; or (c) to pursue available legal remedies and/or defend legal claims.
Our Services are offered from the United States (“U.S.”) and intended for visitors and users both within and outside the U.S. Currently, we store any information we collect in the U.S. If you choose to use our Services from the EEA, the U.K. or other regions of the world with laws governing data collection and use that may differ from U.S. law, then please note that you are transferring your Personal Data outside of those regions to the U.S. for storage and processing.
If we transfer Personal Data from the EEA, the U.K. or Switzerland to the U.S. and other third countries based on Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission, U.K. Information Commissioner’s Office, or Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner, as applicable, or otherwise in accordance with applicable data protection laws, we ensure that Personal Data has the same protection as it does in those jurisdictions, as applicable, when we engage with Service Providers. We may also transfer your personal information from the U.S. to other countries or regions in connection with storage and processing of data, fulfilling your requests, and operating our Services. By providing any information, including personal information, on or through our Services, you consent to such transfer, storage, and processing.
If you are located in the European Economic Area (“EEA”) or the United Kingdom (“U.K.”), we only process your personal information when we have a valid “legal basis,” including as set forth below.
Subject to certain limitations, you have the right to request access to the personal data we hold about you and to receive your data in a portable format, the right to ask that your personal data be corrected or erased, and the right to object to, or request that we restrict, certain processing. If you would like to exercise any of these rights, please contact us at privacy@meshmap.com.
If you have concerns about our handling of personal data, we encourage you to reach out to us initially. However, if we cannot resolve your concern, you have the right to file a complaint with your local Data Protection Authority. For example, we may need to retain your Information in order to maintain security and existing functionality of the Services, to comply with our own legal obligations, and for other internal business purposes as permitted by applicable law. Deleting your account may impact features of the Services that require this Information. You will not be able to restore your account after your account deletion has been processed.

This section provides extra information specifically for residents of certain US states that have distinct data privacy laws and regulations. These laws may grant specific rights to residents of these states when the laws come into effect. This section uses the term “personal information” as an equivalent to the term “Personal Data.”
If you are a California resident, you may be entitled to certain rights with respect to your personal information under the California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”). This section describes our practices regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information in the 12-month period prior to the date listed at the top of this Privacy Policy. It also explains the rights of California consumers regarding your personal information that we collect. For purposes of this section, the terms “consumer,” “personal information,” “service provider,” “third party” and “sale” shall have the meanings set forth in the CCPA and/or other California laws, as applicable.
The CCPA provides California consumers with the following rights:

These business and commercial purposes are described more fully above in the section entitled “How we use the information collected.”

Categories of Personal Data Disclosed for a Business Purpose
Categories of Recipients
Contact information
Internet activity information
Online identifiers
Location data
We may also share your personal information with regulators and government entities when we are legally required to do so.
Right to opt out of future “sale” of your personal information
California consumers have the right under California law to opt out of the “sale” of their personal information. The CCPA defines “sale” broadly and in a way that may in certain circumstances include allowing a third party to collect or receive certain data about you, such as cookies, IP addresses, and/or browsing behavior. MeshMap does not sell your personal information to third parties without your consent.
California law (under California Civil Code section 1798.83) known as the “Shine the Light” law, entitles California residents who have provided personal information to a business with which the individual has established a business relationship for personal, family, or household purposes (“California Customers”) to request information about whether the business has disclosed personal information to any third parties for the third parties’ direct marketing purposes. Please be aware that we do not disclose personal information to any third parties for their direct marketing purposes as defined by this law. Please note that businesses are required to respond to one request per California Customer each year and may not be required to respond to requests made by means other than through the designated email address. California Customers may request further information about our compliance with this law by contacting us through one of the channels listed in the section below entitled “How to contact us.”
Please note that certain data may be exempt under California law from access, data portability, and deletion requests. With respect to deletion requests, this means that certain Account data will be retained by MeshMap even if your Customer account is deleted. For example, we may also retain your personal information in order to maintain security and existing functionality of the Services, to comply with our own legal obligations, and for other internal business purposes as permitted by applicable law. Deleting your Account may impact features of the Services that require this information. You will not be able to restore your account after your Account deletion has been processed.
Only you or a person registered with the California Secretary of State that you authorize to act on your behalf may make a verifiable consumer request related to your personal information. Because of this, we will need to verify your identity before we are able to process any of the requests described in this section, and in our discretion, we may deny your request if we are unable to verify your identity. As a part of this process, government or other identification may be required.
You may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf. In order to designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf, you must provide a valid power of attorney, the requester’s valid government issued identification, and the authorized agent’s valid government issued identification, and we may verify the authenticity of the request directly with you.
We cannot respond to your request or provide you with personal information if we cannot verify your identity or authority to make the request and confirm that the personal information in question relates to you. We will only use personal information provided in a verifiable consumer request to verify the requestor’s identity or authority to make the request.
You may only make a verifiable consumer request for access or deletion twice within a 12-month period.
We value your privacy and we will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your rights, including otherwise denying you goods or services, providing you with a different level or quality of services, or charging you different prices or rates for services. If you need further assistance, you can contact us through one of the channels listed in the section below entitled “How to contact us.” . We will respond to your request within a reasonable timeframe.
If you are a resident of the State of Nevada, the Privacy and Security of Personal Data Chapter of the Nevada Revised Statutes Section 603A permits you to opt out of future sales of certain “covered information” that a website operator has collected or will collect about you. MeshMap does not currently sell covered information as defined in Section 603A. We have no plans to sell covered information, but if you want to be notified if we do change that practice, please send your name and email address to privacy@meshmap.com. If we receive a request from you to be notified, we will contact you if we change this practice and you can complete your opt-out at that time.
If you are a resident of the State of Connecticut, Colorado, Virginia, or Nebraska (as of January 1, 2025) you may take advantage of certain privacy rights, such as to request access, correction, or deletion of your personal information. Because we may “sell” personal information or engage in “targeted advertising” as these terms are defined in Connecticut, Colorado, Virginia and Nebraska laws, you may also exercise your right to opt-out of such sales or targeted advertising. You have the right to appeal a denial of your privacy rights. We will provide you with the necessary information to submit an appeal at that time.
You have the right to opt out of profiling in furtherance of decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects concerning the consumer. MeshMap does not engage in such profiling as defined by Colorado law or Nebraska law, so there’s no need to opt out.
If you would like to exercise your rights as a resident under the laws of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia or Nebraska and you have a registered Account on the Services, you can submit a request at any time by sending an email to privacy@meshmap.com. We may request certain information about your interactions with our Services to verify your identity before we can respond to your requests. We will confirm receipt of your request within 10 business days and will respond to your request within 45 calendar days, after proper verification; we will contact you if we require additional time.
When you browse, use, or interact with the Services, we and our Service Providers and other third parties may automatically collect certain Information, such as data about your device, browser, and online activity through automated means, including through the use of cookies and similar technologies.
A “cookie” is a small text file that is sent to your browser or device. They allow MeshMap and our Service Providers and other third-party business partners to recognize your browser and/or device and to transfer information about you and your use of the Services. For example, cookies may store and communicate information such as the pages you visit on the Services, and allow us to recognize you when you return to our Service. “Session-based” cookies only exist while your browser is open and are automatically deleted when you close your browser. “Persistent” cookies last until they expire, or until you or your browser delete them, and they are used to recognize you when you return to a webpage. For more information about what cookies are and how they function, please go to AllAboutCookies.org.
Note that in addition to cookies, other similar tracking technologies may be used on the Services, such as pixel tags (also known as clear GIFs, pixels or web bugs), web beacons, eTags and local storage. When we refer to “cookies,” we mean cookies and all other tracking technologies used on the Services.
Both session-based and persistent cookies are used on the Services for a variety of purposes as described in the section below. Some of these cookies are “first-party cookies,” which means they are set by MeshMap or our Service Providers or third-party business partners from MeshMap-owned domains. Other cookies are “third-party cookies,” which means that they are controlled and set by third parties from third-party domains.
This Privacy Policy only covers the setting and use of cookies by MeshMap, and does not cover the setting or use of cookies by any third party, which is subject to the applicable third party’s privacy policy. Please check the websites of these third parties directly for more details on how they use cookies.
You can find the types of cookies used on the MeshMap Services below. Please note that while we do our best to keep these lists as up-to-date as possible, the types and names of cookies and other technologies may change from time-to-time.
You may instruct your browser to stop accepting cookies at any time or set your browser to prompt you before accepting cookies. You should review the settings and documentation offered by your browser provider to understand this functionality, and you may contact your browser provider if you have any questions. Please note that if you do instruct your browser to block cookies, you may not be able to use or access some or all features or functionality of the Services.
Your browser settings may allow you to automatically transmit a “Do Not Track” signal to online services you visit. Please note that there is no industry consensus as to what website operators should do with regard to these signals. Because of this, MeshMap does not currently monitor or take action with respect to “Do Not Track” signals. For more information on “Do Not Track,” visit AllAboutDNT.com.
As described above, some of the cookies above may be set by our Service Providers or third-party business partners, either from MeshMap-owned domains or third-party domains. You may be able to control the use of certain cookies by third parties by adjusting your settings with those providers. For more information on whether and how you can opt out of cookies by other third-parties, please see the websites and privacy policies of the applicable third parties.
This Privacy Policy does not apply to the practices of any third party that is not owned or controlled by MeshMap. When you use third-party extensions, integrations, or follow references and links within our Services, to the extent that information is shared with any third party as described in this policy, use of your information by such third parties is subject to those third party terms of service and privacy policies, and you should review them carefully.
The MeshMap Terms of Service require all account owners to be 18 years of age or older. Users who are age 13 or older are permitted to use the Services to browse and use the Services through the Account of their parent or legal guardian, and only if they have permission and direct supervision of their parent or legal guardian who is also the Account owner.
MeshMap does not knowingly collect Personal Data from individuals under the age of 13. If you are under 13, please do not submit any Personal Data through the Services. If we learn that we have received Personal Data from a child under the age of 13, we will attempt to delete the Personal Data as soon as possible. If you believe we may have Personal Data from a child under the age of 13, please contact us at privacy@meshmap.com.
MeshMap retains your Personal Data for as long as it is needed to provide the Services to you, or as permitted in light of the purpose(s) for which it was obtained and consistent with applicable law (for example, satisfying any legal, regulatory, tax, accounting or reporting requirements) and fulfill the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. This is also the case for anyone that we share your information with and who carry out services on our behalf. When we no longer need to use your Personal Data and there is no need for us to keep it to comply with our legal or regulatory obligations, we will either remove it from our systems or anonymize it so that it can no longer be associated with you. When removing Personal Data, we will take commercially reasonable and technically feasible measures to make said Personal Data irrecoverable or irreproducible.
MeshMap uses reasonable and appropriate administrative, technical, and physical security controls to protect your Personal Data from unauthorized use and disclosure in accordance with applicable law. However, due to the nature of the internet and transmission of information via the internet, no system can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. We cannot guarantee or warrant the security of the Information transmitted to us, and we cannot be responsible for the theft, destruction, loss or inadvertent disclosure of your information. Any such transmission is at your own risk. You are responsible for taking reasonable measures to protect your account login information, including your password, to prevent unauthorized access to your account. We have put in place procedures to deal with any suspected Personal Data breach and will notify you and any applicable regulator of a breach where we are legally required to do so.
If you have a disability and would like to access this policy in an alternative format, please contact us at privacy@meshmap.com.
We may change this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect new ways that we process your information. When we post modifications to this Privacy Policy, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. The modified Privacy Policy will be effective immediately upon posting on the Service. If we make significant changes that affect your information, we may also provide you notice of such changes through the Services, by email, or some other means of contact.
